LDE 2019

I was delighted to represent the National Association for Science and Research (NASR) in the Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference 2019 handled under the title "Diaspora in Action" on June 7, 8, and 9 2019 at Biel - Furn ElChebbek.

The first day, actress Daniella Rahma presented the conference and H.E. Minister Gebran Bassil opened the discussion on the political issue, nationality, the fight against resettlement and dependence on the Lebanese expatriates to improve Lebanon. After that, 3 successful Lebanese in the diaspora spoke about their experience and achievements abroad. The president General Michel Aoun was the patron of the conference, and he addressed the attendees with a word from the heart about his love toward Lebanon and the Diaspora.

There were several conversations about the decrees of nationality and their acquisition by the expatriates and their children abroad, the opportunities available to Lebanon and Lebanese investors to invest in the east and the contribution in the reconstruction of Syria and Iraq, on trade and exports from Lebanon and the world.

On the second day, I have participated in the Women and Youth Empowerment Conference, which was held by the Minister of State Affairs for the Empowerment of Women and Youth H.E. Mrs Violette Al-Khoury Safadi, where participants shared their recommendations to empower Lebanese Youth and women here and abroad. After that, the government heard the questions of Diaspora and answered many of their questions. Then, we went to a smaller hall where a number of successful Lebanese abroad spoke. Then the ministers of energy and the environment and the representative of the Ministry of Tourism talked about investment opportunities in Lebanon.

On the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition of Lebanese hotels, tourism companies and start-ups was held.
