On November 15th 2016, MacMillan Education organized a conference at the American University of Beirut (AUB).The conference was entitled "Digital Technology in the English Language Teaching Classroom".
During the conference, Dr Mahmud Shihab, ISTE representative in the Middle East started with an introduction about using technology in classes and the role of the teacher as a facilitator in the classroom and he showed a video from Edutopia defending his point of view. In addition, he presented ISTE standards for teachers, students and coaches (retrieved from ISTE website) and the ISTE standards for the students in 2016 (retrieved from ISTE website).
Karen Wilkins, teacher trainer presented some digital resources to be used in teaching like blogs, Quizlet, Wiki, Kahoot...
At the end they presented the digital resources from MacMillan for teachers to be used in the classroom: Gateway online.
